VNF, container scheduling, HPC workloads in the cloud
Mohamed received his M.Sc . in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Western University, Canada and his B.Sc. from Alexandria University, Egypt. He currently works for SHARCNET Supercomputing Consortium and is the Operational Lead of the Compute Canada National Cloud team. The team is responsible for architecting, deploying and operating Openstack clouds that support very unique workloads, including ATLAS Tier-2 and the New-Horizons space probe big-data indexing platform.
Mohamed became involved with Openstack in early 2015 and has been a frequent speaker/attendee of the Openstack summits. In 2017, he started the Southwestern Ontario User Group to get the Openstack user-base in the region to meet, share knowledge and have fun! Over the last few years, he has been involved in the Openstack community in multiple capacities including serving on the summit programming committee, forum selection committee and in the UC elections.
