OpenDev event gathers best minds in Open CI/CD, including experts from Google, Ericsson, Red Hat and University of Washington
AUSTIN, Texas, April 10, 2018 — Hundreds of open source developers and architects are joining forces in Vancouver, British Columbia, May 22-23, to hack on open source solutions to one of the toughest problems facing organizations embracing DevOps and cloud-native software models: continuous integration, deployment and delivery for software development, also called CI/CD.
The OpenDev CI/CD event is not your typical conference. Consisting of just a few keynotes and presentations, the event primarily comprises collaborative, working sessions with spirited technical debates, demos, shared note-taking and opportunities to carry forward the work in the spirit of open source.
OpenDev CI/CD will begin Tuesday morning, May 22, with keynote presentations featuring:
Mirantis is a headline sponsor of the event, and Mirantis CMO Boris Renski will make the case during his keynote presentation that continuous delivery platforms will replace PaaS as a gateway to public cloud. Additional featured technologies include Chef, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Screwdriver, Spinnaker and Zuul. Sessions will cover CI/CD build and pipelines at scale, patterns for microservice delivery, hybrid CD for multi-cloud environments, CI/CD for NFV workloads, anomaly detection in CI jobs, Zuul v3 for gating, and more.
**The preliminary schedule is online, and registration is open.**
The programming committee includes experts in open source CI/CD:
The first OpenDev event last fall focused on edge computing, where 200 developers and architects discussed use cases, defined technology gaps and identified next steps to advance the edge computing space. Following the event, an Edge Computing Working Group formed and delivered a Cloud Edge Whitepaper based on discussions at the event. You can view videos of the keynotes and sessions, as well as links to the collaborative notes by session.
OpenDev CI/CD will be co-located with the OpenStack Summit, taking place May 21-24 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. OpenDev CI/CD will run parallel to the Summit, May 22-23, on a dedicated floor of the Convention Centre. Attendees can register for a two-day pass to OpenDev CI/CD, and OpenStack Summit badge holders with a full-week pass will also have the opportunity to attend.
OpenDev is organized by the OpenStack Foundation with support from a diverse set of programming committee members.
