Load Balancing as a Service, Mitaka and Beyond

Load balancing as a Service (LBaaS) has been one of the critical features asked for by cloud tenants.

For the Mitaka release cloud providers such as Rackspace, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, etc. have partnered with the community and load balancer vendors such as Radware and A10 to enhance the new LBaaS v2 service with Horizon support, L7 rules, and active/standby support.


What can I expect to learn?

In this session we will give an overview of current state of the Load Balancing as a Service project, including the Octavia reference implementation. We will highlight what is new in the Mitaka release and introduce our plans for the Newton release.

Specifically we plan to cover the following new features in the Mitaka release:

Active/standby support

Layer 7 content rules

LBaaS v2 Horizon support
