Deploying OpenStack Using Docker in Production

Time Warner Cable has been slowly deploying Dockerized OpenStack services in production since the Juno release.  In this talk we'll share our real-world experiences with deploying OpenStack services in production with Docker and answer the following questions:Why would you want to deploy OpenStack using Docker? How do you manage the transition from packages to containers? What are the advantages of this approach? What are the pitfalls and best practices? We will also discuss how our upgrade to the Liberty release of OpenStack was simplified by our use of Docker containers.

What can I expect to learn?

We expect that attendees will be interested in learning more about how practical it is to run OpenStack services in Docker, and what the benefits and problems can be.  We expect them to come away with an understanding of the sort of benefits and problems they may see using Dockerized OpenStack services and be prepared to start investigating doing it themselves.  We will provide specific advice and direction on how to be successful with their deployment.
