Legacy Architectures to an Automated, Multi-Tenant Private Cloud: EBSCO Case Study

I heard that implementing OpenStack is not for the faint of heart. As IT architect at EBSCO, I will draw upon our recent experience with implementing OpenStack at EBSCO to share best practices that I discovered along the way. You will learn both the technology and organizational barriers that need to be overcome to create a robust private cloud implementation with OpenStack.

What can I expect to learn?

EBSCO started with the goal to enable self-service provisioning for development and test teams and to give them a programmable infrastructure. Our journey started with considering the public cloud for its flexibility, but we quickly realized that we don’t want to stop with just dev/qa automation. We will use our implementation experience at EBSCO to see how to achieve automation, multi-tenancy, and self-service in your private cloud.  You will learn both the good and the bad of operationalizing OpenStack and tools that can help you.
