The Evolution of OpenDaylight with OpenStack: New Driver Framework in Networking-odl

OpenDaylight is an open source SDN(Software Defined Networking) platform which provides various features. One of the biggest use-case is OpenStack integration as network virtualization. So the OpenDaylight community has spent much effort on this use case along side with neutron community. In OpenStack netwon cycle we've made big progress in neutron driver. Basically networking-odl push down information from neutron to opendaylight. However syncing state in distributed environment is challenge. In the past there are related issues due to race condition, ha issue. In order to resolved it, new framework has been introduced which is called v2 driver framework. The basic idea comes from log replication and applied it to the case of netuorn-opendaylight. But it needs to be realized without using another big component so that DBMS is the only choice. In this session, its motivation and technical details will be discussed, and the current status and future plan will be shown.
