In the Ocata release timeframe, the TC began describing a process to vet and create community-wide release goals. As stated in the governance document for this process, "We use these OpenStack-wide goals to achieve visible common changes, push for basic levels of consistency and user experience, and efficiently improve certain areas where technical debt payments have become too high – across all OpenStack projects. From a contributor perspective, the goals help unify the community’s work as a whole, with some shared objectives. " Let's discuss the process as well as potential goals as we would like to have a small backlog of community-wide goals for each release.
