There are many companies maintaining their own forks of Cinder solely in order to have somewhere convenient to push driver bug fixes for stable branches that are past the point of allowing them. We have discussed various ways to reduce this duplication and make it easier for distros and end users to be able to find these fixes.
Some proposals were shot down in the past. We are still in a less than optimal position though. We would like input from these package maintainers and affected end users to make sure we can find a good way to address these pain points.
