The number of features available in different OpenStack projects is growing. This makes the problem of API feature discoverability more severe. A very bright real life example is the fact that some Cinder features like replication or consistency groups are possible only with a limited set of volume drivers. How can API user check if volumes created from some volume type can be replicated? Similar issues are shared by Nova and possibly other projects.

This session goal is to share different use cases for such API, discuss the design and come up with an implementation plan. The efforts which this session is a part of should be summed up by the API WG guideline describing capabilities discovery API design.
