Monasca: Work session
Discussion on the addition of properties/attributes for metrics/logs. The addition of properties/attributes to the metrics and log messages would enable new use cases in Monasca such as:
1. Routing metrics/logs to specific topics in Kafka to address higher priority messages/logs or topics with longer time to live on messages to support archive use cases. Please see the blueprint at, https://blueprints.launchpad.net/monasca/+spec/publish-logs-to-topic-selectively, which covers the addition for logging.
2. Specifying whether metrics are sporadic. Sporadic metrics are metrics that are sent intermittently. Additional properties in the metric can be used to identify the types of alarms that are created.
3. Specify the unit of a metric, to example, bytes, mbytes, ...
