Operations and integration costs are the biggest problem for large software users. How can we improve quality of software operations, reduce the cost of automation, and improve our ability to operate across multiple public and private infrastructures? Perhaps open source automation and operations code - with shared development and shared insights - holds the answer. This session will show how companies are collaborating and sharing low-level operations code for much more efficient operations, much faster delivery, and much better ops quality. Gaining the benefits of SAAS as open source is the goal of charms, which are open source operations packages, enabling companies from Box to Sky collaborate on the operation of complex components reliably and at scale, everywhere, from Azure to OpenStack.
