IBM: Microservices on the Open Cloud: Part 3 — Delivering Application Microservices

In this session, you'll learn about the Open Cloud Platform and the role it plays in how application logic is packaged and deployed to a cloud platform in a microservices architecture. The Open Cloud Platform as a Service provides the freedom to choose a unique language or runtime for your microservice, which can empower you to use the right tool for the job. We'll then see how containerization can provide the right deployment vehicle for highly scalable and resilient deployment topologies.

We will help you understand how you can use Cloud Foundry instant runtimes and Docker containers to support the business logic encapsulation for your microservice. In addition, we will help you understand how serverless computing can help with event driven tasks.

At the end of the session, we will bring it all together with a demo that will walk you through the steps needed to deploy your microservices to the cloud.
