OpenDaylight is the leading open source SDN controller that augments OpenStack’s ability to provision, monitor, manage and secure both physical and virtual routes across the datacenter and/or across the WAN. What makes OpenDaylight so unique and uniquely valuable to OpenStack is it’s ability to interact with network devices via the operator’s protocol of choice. In this talk we’ll explain OpenDaylight’s micro-service style architecture that enables this unprecedented flexibility along with the features of OpenDaylight specifically built in support of OpenStack. We’ll also touch upon what we’ve learned from the growing community of end users who rely on the combination of OpenStack and OpenDaylight to solve their Cloud connectivity needs. Finally, we’ll touch upon some of the current work underway across both OpenStack and OpenDaylight communities much of which is being led from teams within the OPNFV ecosystem.
