Ulas C. Kozat is currently at Facebook Connectivity and is one of the maintainers for the open source Magma project. Before joining Facebook, he was a senior member of technical staff at Huawei R&D USA. At Huawei, he led several R&D projects to transform mobile networks into a software defined fabric and beyond. He took part in open source projects OPNFV and ONAP. Previously, he served at Argela USA as principal scientist and at DOCOMO Innovations as principal research engineer and manager.

He received his Ph.D. in ECE from the University of Maryland, College Park, his M.Sc. in ECE from the George Washington University and his B.Sc. in EE from the Bilkent University, Turkey. Dr. Kozat has published extensively in the areas of communication networks and distributed systems. He holds 26 US Patents. He is a senior member of IEEE.
