Mentoring has always been a big part of the OpenStack Community and as the community has changed, so has our mentoring program. Historically, the Women of OpenStack have owned and run the mentoring program that our community offered to newcomers. The new cohort model- that lives under the Diversity & Inclusion WG- provides a lightweight structure for mentors while maximizing the number of mentees we can help at any given time.  

 

So what does this mean for you? We need volunteers to help mentor the cohorts and stir conversation. We need active mentees who are looking to grow their careers, their skill sets and find their place in the OpenStack Community.  We also welcome input and help with continually evolving what this program should look like, what goals we have cohorts for, recruiting mentors and mentees- and continuing to support the program into the future!
