In this presentation, Julien, Red Hat Project Team Leader for OpenStack Telemetry and Alex, Red Hat performance engineer, will describe how the telemetry stack is now able to measure 10,000 instances easily.
First, they will explain how the telemetry architecture has been reorganized these last cycles to scale horizontally to this point. Then, they will demonstrate the performance tests and benchmarks that have been run to push the telemetry software beyond the scalability limits that were known until now. The results of those tests will be shared and explained to the audience. Finally, our speakers will offer their view on the progress that has been made and the possible next steps for the project.
By attending this talk, participants will learn how the OpenStack Telemetry has been transformed from a slow beast to a fast-paced project that scales beyond many of most common OpenStack project. They will discover what are the current strengths and pitfalls of the telemetry software and will have a glimpse of what might be coming next for this OpenStack branch.
