Paddy Power Betfair started its OpenStack and DevOps journey a few of years back, and has some lessons learned to share with the community. In this talk we will share our latest experience with OpenStack Manila and File share services in OpenStack.
We will describe in detail the use cases and the kind of applications that consume file-share services at Paddy Power Betfair, by showcasing how OpenStack Manila has enabled us to offer our developers access to File share services through APIs. Moving away from spreadsheets and manual provisioning, now file shares can be managed centrally and offer self-service. We will also describe how we are on-boarding existing applications to OpenStack with Manila.
As part of this session we will also shed some light on how we deployed the Manila service in our OpenStack environment and talk about how to take advantage of advanced data management features like replication.
