OpenStack is a technology that comes with a vibrant and active community. Even without a strong technical background, you can become involved and contribute.
The talk will cover:
- Personal stories from OpenStack community members on their journey in becoming involved:
- These are from individuals who have been involved with overseeing user groups, the ambassador program and contributing to media and publications
- As a result of these contributions, highlighting the positive impact
- Unpacking the community structure, demonstrating all the possible points in the OpenStack ecosystem where others with a non technical background can enter and join the community
- Finally, a summary with encouragment of non technical members to join and contribute!
Attendees should expect to learn from my and others experiences in being involved in the OpenStack community, without a strong coding/technical background. This proving the OpenStack space is truly open for all, whether it comes from a management perspective (ie Facilitating user groups) or Advocacy perspective (Ambassador program or media contributions) and so on.
Attendees should also walk away feeling excited and empowered to grow their communities even more, encouraging more individuals to join and contribute, whether they come from a technical background or not.
