In this session we bring together the developers of the VM and Baremetal platform (the VM & BM working group) with those who operate the platform, and invite them to join in with the efforts of the working group.
The scope is looking at the constellation of projects that includes: Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Ironic, Keystone and all the related projects those projects works well together. There is a separate session proposed to cover API user issues, this is focusing on the operator view of the platform.
The session is likely to be structured like this:
* Agree the initial scope of the working group
* Review current efforts, agree a top 5 (or top 10) from the operator point of view
* Get detailed feedback on the top 5
* Recruit user advocates for each effort (folks to help review specs, and generally discuss the implementation with the developers in the weeks/months after the Forum)
Ideally in a second session, the next day, we look at:
* Discuss what is not on the dev radar, but should be
* Determine how the priority of those stack up against the current top 5
* Start initial discussions and recruit advocates for a top 5 of these ideas
After the forum, we follow up this discussion by:
* working together, agreeing specs, refining details, tracking key bugs
* at the PTG, make progress on some of the ideas that are not currently on the dev radar, ideally recruit people to work on them
* come back to the next forum to review the progress, direction and lists of things that are progressing, dig into the next things that need working on
