Mark Durbin
Verizon

Mark Durbin is currently a DMTS in the Network Security Infrastructure Planning organization. His current responsibilities include security strategic planning across Verizon's various business units, providing tactical direction for physical appliance and virtual based security solutions within these various business units.

He has 25 years experience in developing and designing, testing, evaluating, and supporting numerous variations of voice/data wired/wireless telecommunications networking solutions and security solutions, services and products. He has held several engineering and planning positions within MCI, now at Verizon, and has been with the company a combined total over 25 years. During this time, he has worked on key projects and initiatives including the federal security solutions, access solutions, security services, virtualization and many other projects.

In addition, during this time he has received three patents for service and security solutions developed on these projects.

He currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Tarleton State University.

Some of Mark's hobbies include vehicle repair/restoration, hiking, scuba diving, biking, running, camping, amateur radio, storm chasing, and of course home automation and security systems.
