Kata Container wraps container workloads in extremely lightweight VMs which combine the speed and flexibility of containers with the isolation and security of VMs, makes it ideal candidates for multitenant deployments.
Edge computing is a typical multitenant deployments, where edge nodes can scale to large numbers of sites, distributed in distinct locations.
In this session, Kata containers will be used to implement FaaS and the service will be deployed on edge side.
However, will a VMs isolation container be light and fast enough to serve FaaS? Is it able to meet the requirement of launching thousands of container in one second? Is Kata container mature enough to be deployed on product environment?
This session will explain why enhance isolation will be needed in edge case, how to implement a FaaS use Kata container, what gap need to be filled in this use case, how to meet the requirements from the real deployment by Baidu edge team.
