Scaling should be easy and automatic: Heat and Monasca

Everyone talks about how OpenStack has made it easy to provision and re-provision virtual machines but that is just step 1 when it comes to apps. Few are aware of the hidden power of OpenStack to amplify the throughput of your apps and that too automatically.

Come and join us as we take you step by step. We will guide you through the complex maze of options to effectively bring the scale of OpenStack to your app. Heat and Monasca are the two technologies that we will combine to make OpenStack work for you. This will be a complete hands-on session that intersects these technologies and builds a scalable cloud around your World Class application.

What can I expect to learn?

Attendees will first learn about auto-scaling and related feature sets of the Heat and Monasca. Then we will provide a guided approach to set up both these projects and explain where they fit in the OpenStack world. Every candidate will have a dedicated environment to try out features for automatic scaling of storage and compute. Additional assignments will be provided for advanced users.

The workshop aims to empower its participants with the knowledge and confidence to effectively deploy and scale their infrastructure in an easy way, the OpenStack way!

No prior knowledge of Heat or Monasca is required. It is a practical session with live code examples, so please bring your laptops.
