Edge computing is a hot topic in every industry segment opening up new business opportunities and new challenges for both commercial entities as well as the open source ecosystem.

As this is a complex area that affects all components down from the hardware up to the application layer it is important to have a good understanding of the use cases and requirements we need to address on the IaaS layer. We've launched the OSF Edge Computing Group a bit more than one and a half years ago to draw the big picture on edge by collecting and analysing use cases to undersyand better the requirements and define reference architectures.

We would like to make sure you have a good understanding of the group's goals and activities and would also like to get your feedback about our direction and roadmap.
