Deutsche Telekom T-Systems, tribe leader Open Telekom Cloud and senior vice president global delivery excellence

Stefan Bucher studied physics at the Ludwig-Maximilian university in Munich and completed his doctoral studies in human biology there and at the State University of New York.  In 1998 he started his professional career as a project manager at debis Systemhaus. Following the merger between debis Systemhaus and Deutsche Telekom in 2000, he continued his career path at T-Systems, the ICT-subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.  

At T-Systems he has performed various roles and was in charge of IT-applications and architectures of international mobile providers. As of 2006 he was Head of Global Delivery for Open System and Mainframe server solutions for large international customers. In his position as Manager of Global Delivery as of 2007 he was responsible for the largest outsourcing-deal in T-Systems’ history: Shell. This ranged from the operation of hosting and storage services up to the management of data centers in Amsterdam, Houston and Cyberjaya.

From 2010 Stefan Bucher lead various complex international organizations and projects as Senior Vice President. In 2013 he took on the position as Senior Vice President Solutions & Projects and took on the end-to-end responsibility for complex ICT customer solutions. From the beginning of 2016 he was the Head of the IT Division and as a result is responsible for 30.000 employees and 4.000 customers. Since 2018 he is currently responsible for Open Telekom Cloud in the dimensions product, delivery and sales and also took the position as Senior Vice President of the T-Systems delivery organization.
