With the launch of 5G, the evolution of technologies such as MEC, Media Cloud, AI (ML) have strongly emerged along with a rapid evolution in 5G network infrastructure. Infrastructure itself must evolve as a cloud native service to fully support the evolution.
SKT has been developing cloud native infrastructure technology since 2016, and actively participates in global projects both in OpenStack Foundation (OSF) and in CNCF ecosystem, especially Airship project in OSF.
This presentation gives a good real use case to combine Airship into SKT's own effort (https://github.com/openinfradev) on developing cloud native infrastructure solution. We also want to share our experience pushing these new technology into telco network infrastructure, one of the most conservative operational entity. In addition, we will introduce how SKT extends Airship-based technology beyond our own telco infrastructure, toward other domains like Media and AI. This presentation will also introduce includes Airship's on-going development using CRD, Operator, Cluster-API and how these will be evolved to address fully cloud native infra.
