Our company, NTT Communications is Japanese Tier 1 ISP. As you know, ISP requires more and more high-throughput and flexible network functions. But high-end routers are so expensive and it takes a long time to procuring and implement.
To solve these issues, we are testing some methods. As one of them, we verified a 100Gbps software router called “Kamuee”. Kamuee runs on ordinary server using DPDK with over 100Gbps performance.
Of course, in order to acheive more flexibility, we considered about deploying 100Gbps Router on not only Baremetal but OpenStack. But to get max 100Gbps performance on OpenStack requires proper optimizations.
In this session, we will provide our findings to run 100Gbps software router “Kamuee” with DPDK on OpenStack environment.
