OpenInfra Foundation Board Announces Intent to Join the Linux Foundation

shade: Everything you always wanted as a cloud user

shade is a library that grew out of the OpenStack Infra team's need to reliably and sanely spawn tens of thousands of VMs a day across a multitude of OpenStack clouds. It provides the OpenStack access layer for Infra's nodepool, as well as for Ansible's OpenStack modules. If you want to boot a single VM on an OpenStack cloud, shade makes it simple. If you want to boot 10,000 on 10 clouds, shade makes it possible.

In this presentation, we'll talk a bit about shade's design, then walk through some how-to examples of performing general tasks. If Monty can stop flapping his mouth randomly and get to the end, we'll also cover some of the more advanced features, like client-side rate limiting and the optional batching and caching interfaces.

There will not be any rapping this time.
