Utilizing Standalone Cinder in Hybrid OpenStack/non-OpenStack Environments
While there is a lot of talk about Hybrid Cloud and integrating Private and Public Clouds this discussion misses many customer's needs. Many OpenStack customers have not always been OpenStack customers and have other virtualization environments (HyperV, VMWare, etc.) that can benefit from the technologies provided by OpenStack. In this presentation we demonstrate how Standalone Cinder can be leveraged to provide storage to environments outside of OpenStack. We also demonstrate the benefits of running Cinder and OpenStack components within containers and the integration of monitoring and analytics into the environment to create a flexible, Open Source based storage controller.
