Cinder requires software 'drivers' to connect to the backends where data is stored. To make it easier to use various backends, a large set of drivers have been contributed to the cinder source code by storage vendors. Vendors provide driver maintenance and are required to run Third Party CI systems so that we have some assurance that changes to cinder don't break a driver (and vice-versa). Third Party CI is important to the Cinder project, and it's important for operators, but it takes effort to keep a 3rd Party CI running. Thus, it's important for operators to let vendors know that you value this service. In this session, we'll talk about 'supported' vs. 'unsupported' drivers and how Third Party CI fits in.
