Several efforts have been made in order to reach and retain diverse talents in open source. OpenStack, as a community, has participated in many of those and came to some conclusions.
What happens after the training/internship is over? Why do people sign up to get mentoring and then they just don’t reach their mentors so they can give their first step? Why are very good candidates unable to go through the interview processes successfully? This and other inquiries have been made and we still don’t have a clear answer.
How does the “day-2” operations look like for onboarding processes? How can we improve so we can retain all those talents we get to meet on the mentoring events we organize?
